Hey,
I'm currently building a computer with the following parts:
AMD X2 3800 + AM2
Asus M2N-E Socket AM2 Mobo
Kingmax 1GB(1024MB) PC5300 DDR2 667MHz 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM
Asus EN7300GS/HTD/256M GeForce 7300GS PCI-E
250GB Sata WD HD.
DVD-RW

I've assembled the computer, however when I boot, there is no image on the screen and I get 1 Long and 2 short beeps. This means that there is some video card error. Well I thought the graphics card might be bad, but I tried it in another computer and it works fine. So I'm stuck now, I'm thinking it might be the Mobo or Ram, but Ram wouldn't create that POST error code if it was bad. So any ideas? Should I return Mobo or is there anything else I can try?
Regards,
Mike

It's a generic 400W one with 24 pins.
I found out that it's beeping b/c of the RAM, its not on the QVL. (I found this out after getting an exchange on mobo). So tommorow I'm going out to buy some new ram, that should hopefully solve the problem.
Thanks,
Mike

Check your RAM voltages. M2N-E only goes up up to 1.95v. I'm using Kingston ValueRAM because they use 1.8v.

That POST beep your getting does indicate a bad video OR improperly seated video.

Possible bad PCI-E slot?

Your RAM running at 667Mhz should be ok since it only requires ~1.8v otherwise just update the BIOS and it shouldnt be a problem.

I do not think a bad power supply will cause those weird beeps.

Good luck!

while a generic 400 watts might not be enough (just like one generic 450w I had and could not start a nforce3/3000+ setup while a branded 350w did..), make sure that bothe the 24 pins AND the 4 pins are plugged in. the 4 pins IS NOT the same one that is attached to the main connector. IT IS A DIFFERENT ONE
