ASUS Laptop hard drive problem

So my laptop randomly restarted and is not loading into windows. It gets stuck on the windows loading screen for approximately 15 minutes then goes to the blue screen of death saying some registry error then restarts and continues the cycle. I tried going into safe mode by it won't go into window either.

So then I tried reinstalling windows, I did the long format hard drive, but after that was complete another error came up saying that it can't load windows onto the hard drive because of some curroption or bad sector or something like that (i forget exactly).

I'm currently running format c: through DOS right now, i'm wondering if this is going to fix the problems. If you need more info about the laptop i'll update in a few hours when i get back home

so i was wondering if you people thought my hard drive was dead and I'd have to send it in...

thanks,
nab

Sure sounds like it to me. If it's under warranty, send it in. If not, swap it yourself.

it is still under warranty, so i'm going to send it in...any idea how long it will take? on the website they're saying 5-7 business days...is that realistic?
