I just purchased an Asus K8V VIA K8T800 mb and i was reading through the manual when i came to a section that warns that if i'm using a 9500 or 9700 series videocard that i should make sure that it is p/n xxx-xxxxx-30 or later for optimal stability ond overclocking. It goes on to say to be sure that the videocard is 1.5v version and not 3.5v.
Now i believe that the 3.5v is speaking to older 2x agp cards and the like but what's up with the 9500/9700 thing? My radeon 9500pro is p/n 109-A05600-00. Am i going to have an issue with this board?

Not sure if this will be any help, but I have the K8V Deluxe version with a 9700 Pro that was purchased 1 or 2 months when it got introduced back in 2002, so the video card is about as old as you can get and it works fine for me for over 1 year and a few months.

I can check out the P/N number on the video card if you like, but won't be until later when I can check it.

Thanks microAmp, that would be great. Sure hope this card doesn't pose a problem. I't's living in O/C Euphoria and i'd hate to get rid of it.

I also have the K8V Deluxe with a Radeon 9500 Pro and I've never had a problem with either. However, I've never tried to overclock either of them.

064450 are the last set of digits of my 9700 Pro.

As for overclocking, I didn't have good success. The processor pretty much is limited to 2.2 GHz, but when I try to hit that, I get data corruption on the hard drive.
