Asus K8V SE DX Problem

I went and upgraded from an msi k8n to an Asus K8v after the MSI died. On that machine the video was doing great, and all was well.
Before I go on...here are the system specs

Asus K8V SE-DX
AMD64 3200+
Corsair Value PC-3200 (2x512mb)
Sapphire Radeon 9800PRO with 256mbDDRII
XP Pro

I like to use the Omega Drivers (from omegadrivers.net) but after I installed them (from the first booot with Asus) it wouldn't boot into Windows, so I boot into safe mode. Got rid of those drivers, and hunted up the Catalyst. Well, they wouldn't boot into XP either. So I booted into safe mode and got rid of those, and installed the default windows 9800PRO drivers that were on the HD. I could boot, but there's problems. For starters, look at this screen shot of my desktop shown here. And also games don't run correctly at all. But to me it looks like a software problem somewhere in the drivers or something to that effect. Because in the games, only certain things are screwy. Like, for instance, 4x4evo2 the ground is all messed up, but the dials read perfectly. Seen here . I can't play battlefield: vietnam at all (effectively I mean). And then last night I loaded up SP2, and now I am unable to boot except into safe mode. I get past loading, and then it shows my desktop for about 30 seconds with a cursor, then it crashes. Anything else I can tell about the problem?
