Asus K8V Fried? CPU dead?

I was on the web last night and my machine started to freeze up. Tried to shut down, but it just hung. Finally powered off. Tried to restart, and the board powers up, but there is no video signal and it does not seem to be accessing the HD. Pulled out cmos battery to clear bios, but that had no impact. No boot screen at all. Any ideas?
 
Thanks, professor. I will double-check those, but I am afraid it might be something worse.
