Dear Sirs,
I am trying to create a RAID0+3 array using the following configuration:
2X Maxtor 80gb on SATA's
1X Maxtor 60gb on IDE
The first time I booted up with this configuration it detected all three and allowed me to define the array. I proceeded to install winxp with the Promise drivers on a floppy; install seemed to go fine. However, when installation called for a reboot, I found myself staring at a prompt wanting me to insert a valid system disk. After perusing the mobo BIOS, I found that there were options to both enable the Promise Controller and enable its SATA BOOTROM. I verified that these were both enabled, and tried again...to no avail.
I then tried to go back to just a 2X SATA setup, thinking that there was a conflict with doing a 3-device array. However, I am no longer able to get into the Promise Controller BIOS during bootup. I try to hammer Ctrl-F constantly but that doesn't bring me to it either. Is there like a bootdisk or something I need to be able to get into this BIOS?
BTW, I have an ASUS K8V NON-deluxe mobo. Thanks.
