Get this....

I have 10 PC's that I'm building up for use as voicemail servers

The hardware is an Asus K8S-MX, Sempron-32 2800+, 512MB RAM and a pair of 80GB Seagate SATA drives.

I installed XP, all of the drivers, all of my apps, all of the Windows Updates...

I did a Sysprep, shut down and put in my Acronis True Image 8.903 disc.

First, Acronis would lock on the IDE scan. So I added a "ide-detect=off" option to the True Image boot up (it sees the SATA as SCSI so it works without an IDE scan)

Then it wouldn't see the on-board NIC. So I installed a Realtek NIC and was able to get past that.

I created my image on the network and threw the next PC up on the bench. Once again I added the "ide-detect=off" switch and installed a Realtek NIC. I was able to pull the image over to the PC, but on reboot I would get the Windows XP splash screen and then a blank screen. There was some hard drive activity and then nothing.

I then rebooted and went into Safe Mode. I saw the XP splash screen, and then the long list of drivers, DLL's, etc buzz by the screen. The last thing on the screen was "Loading: gagp30kx.sys" and then everything came to a screeching halt.

This is nuts. I have made ZERO progress with these builds. Anyone know any issues? Work arounds? I'm so desperate, I'm thinking of pulling the boards out and putting in something with a VIA chipset.

This is what I get for trying to save a few bucks on a motherboard.

I guess this would be better of in the tech support forum.
Well I'm sure you could install them all individually and they would work fine, seeing as that worked for the first one.
I did a search for that driver file and seems to show up with the same results that you are getting, system would hang or system would reboot. That file gagp30kx.sys"Microsoft Generic AGPv3.0 Filter for
K8 Processor Platforms"
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=gagp30kx.sys&btnG=Google+Search

Yeah. I Googled it too, but found no resolution.

I took the second build, waxed it and I'm installing 2000 on it instead. I know it's an older OS, but what do you bet it works? Wait... I better not jinx that. :p
