Given my experience with the MSI FI2SR, I'd say go with the ASUS.

agreed, not with the exact mobo but MSI in general. The sites reccomend them cause they do perform good and have some great features but they don't use them for long periods of time and havn't died yet...

I got the Asus board yesterday, and I couldn't get video to work with any card. Another poster had the same problem with his.

I'm pretty sure that other person would be me. I have faith in the rma though. I like the layout on the asus especially since the ram doesn't touch my hsf anymore but the Northbride is too damn close to the agp slot : ( I'll take occasional doa boards+rma over lots of little problems.

I hav eone of the msi's here, the raid seems to have problems with overclocking for some reason, very odd. It tends to freeze up during boot. Once I get past boot though it is fine. I thin it may be the chip not the board though.

That's not accurate.

any socket 754

Still not accurate. The SiS 755 based motherboards are faster, the ASRock K8S8X being the prime example.

the only problem that ships with the board (before you update the bios that is) is it reports cpu temps wrong.... Other than that - it's sweet
