Asus K7V + 4X AGP + Win 2K = freeze

Asus K7V + 4X AGP + Win 2K = freeze
Asus K7V + 4X AGP + Win 98 = no freeze
Asus K7V + 2X AGP + Win 2K = no freeze

Anyone know why?

I have a Athlon 750, Creative Geforce 2 MX with latest nvidia drivers. All 3D games seem to freeze in Windows 2000 after a coupla minutes if the BIOS has AGP 4X enabled. If I set it to 2X; no problem. Anyone know a resolution?

Do you have the same revision of the VIA 4 in 1 drivers installed in each OS, or at least the AGP portion of the driver?

Can you check with WCPUID, to see what mode AGP is actually in in each of the OSs?

Maybe in 2k, it's actually running at 4x, while in 98 it's being forced down to 2x by software/drivers.
