My system all of a sudden will have 1 long and then 3 short beeps when I power on the system. No video is displayed on the screen. It did this last night and I rebooted and it work, now it want do anything. I was wondering what was wrong?
I did a search on bios beep codes and I found that on most motherboards 1 long and 3 short beeps is a video error. I was just wondering what I should do? and if this is what the error means is my video card dead?

UPDATE: I opened up the computer and reseated the RAM. It did not give an error code beep, but still no video on the screen. I turned the computer off for a few secs and then back on and now Im in Windows.

This is really wierd...

Any ideals on what is going on?

May I ask why you did not try to reseat the Video card? I had the same problem recently. Reseating did the trick.....

I found another website that said on Award BIOS that 1 long followed by 2 shorts was a video error, and that other errors could be RAM.
Since my error was One long and 3 shorts I thought about trying the ram first...
