Hey,

Anyone have any success updating the video drivers for this laptop beyond the stock ones v.8.6 I believe. I have tried everything that I can think of ( I'm no computer genius though ) It all started when I did the win10 upgrade and I was left with a black screen, I then experiemented with version after version of drivers and got nowhere. I find this really frustrating! Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. I'll leave my specs below..

Asus K52Jr-X2
Intel i3 M350
8GB Ram
ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470

Most laptops are made to only support limited OS's. You should roll your OS back to what it was.

Laptops with the 1st gen AMD Switchable Graphics got majorly and utterly screwed over on driver updates. There are hacks out there to update them, but they're a royal pain in the ass, and are of questionable stability (my own laptop crashes in Sleep with hacked drivers).

The reason for the non-existant support on AMD's part is because Switchable Graphics weren't meant to support Intel IGPs, only AMD chipsets. It was the OEMs that put together that functionality on their own. AMD wants nothing to do with OEM-modded drivers and will not support them in any way. It wasn't until Enduro launched that AMD also supported Intel IGPs (2nd gen Core-i series, aka Sandy Bridge).

And as per usual, OEMs are, at the very best, poor at providing updated drivers, typically only releasing one or two gpu driver updates before abandoning the laptop model entirely.

With my own experiences and frustrations at hand, I provide the following advice...
"All Ye Who Enter Here, Abandon Hope Now."

If, after not heeding the above advice, you still desire to jump in the rabbit's hole, Leshcat Labs may be of some help.
