Hiya,
I'm going abroad for a scholarship next semester so I need a notebook mainly for work (Word, Excel, maybe some light programming, browsing, downloads) with decent multimedia capabilites. After much searching on and offline, I have arrived at the ASUS K50IJ-SX036L. Specs look good, price not too steep and - I'm told, I'm no expert - that it will more than meet my demands. Anyone used this notebook? If so, experiences, problems? I tried to find some reviews but Google failed me.
Specs:
CPU: Intel Celeron Dual-Core 1.8 GHz
Screen: 15.6" ColorShine, 1366x768 (16:9) WXGA HD LED
RAM: 1x2 GB DDR2 800 MHz
HDD: SATA 250 GB 5400 rpm
VGA: Intel GMA X4500M 256 MB
Battery: 6 cell Li-Ion
also 1.3 Mpixel webcam, DVD Super Multi optical drive
1.4x14.5x10 inches, 4.4 pounds
price is the approximate equivalent of $630
Any feedback is highly appreciated. I'm also open to suggestions for other notebooks, but please bear in mind that I'm in Hungary, so "buy this from newegg" isn't really an option, what with the transatlantic shipping costs (if they even ship overseas).
