Where can i get the best version of Asus tweak? She's idling at 26C but for some reason the Asus voltage tweak doesn't have the "Extended ranges" option.

Some questions. For the VRM's. Do i use just glue and heatsink or thermal pad and heatsink?

isn't that a little too big for a 7850? You use a thermal pad for vrms.

I just got my 7850 as well. I have it running at 1200mhz on the core and 5600mhz on the memory. At that speed, Crysis stays pegged at 60fps most of the time at 1080p with no aa. The card is dead silent as well, even overclocked. I don't actually see the need for aftermarket cooling with the 7850.

I was going to buy the 2 fan version but for future video cards i went with this one.

Also with the VRM's. You apply glue to them correct? Then thermal pad then heatsink?

I'm not content with 1200 core :)

"Frag tape" and heatsink.

Glue? Only "glue" I've seen is the arctic silver 2 part epoxy stuff. I tend to use that, as I've had BAD luck with frag tape / thermal tape. The tape never sticks well.

Is Asus locking bios? My Asus Tweak range only goes to 1050 core. Let me break out the bios editor

Get the latest version from their 79703gb download section (asus gpu tweak) , and install it -reboot - click "advanced" button, click tuning, then click "extend overclock range".

Reboot, bam.

At this point after extending clocks , just use MSI afterburner to overclock and uninstall gpu tweak. Trust me, that worked best for a few people. The extended clocks will carry over from gpu tweak to afterburner even after uninstalling.

Also, if you're using the accelero 2 it should come with a mix for those heatsinks.

First test. 1Ghz core on stock voltage. Temps max out at 52C! I can't control the fan speed so temps could probably be lower.

GPU tweak is really weird because it doesn't reapply overclocks on reboot and is wonky with fan settings. Once you get clocks extended, msi afterburner is the best bet IMO....you have much more control and its more reliable. Only downside is that it can't extend clocks beyond default, so gotta use gpu tweak for that.

My card is topping out at 1175mhz (core) and 5800mhz (memory).

I was hoping for at least 1200mhz on the core but I can live with what I'm getting.

I thought people were pumping 1.3v through these cards but the Asus tool won't let me go beyond 1.225v.

What version you using? I'm on 2.0.6 and mine goes up to 1.295

I was on 2.0.8.3 but then I tried 2.0.6 and I'm still stuck at 1.225v and lower.

It doesn't matter anyway. I would need better cooling to get more from this card. I'm already hitting 80C under full load which I think is too high.

Keep this in mind from that UK 7850 overclocking thread:

Benched Heaven:
@ 1200/5200(1300) ~ 53 fps 1330 score
@ 1200/5300(1325) ~ 59 fps 1440 score
@ 1200/5400(1350) ~ 53 fps 1330 score

With error correcting memory, faster is not always better. You will reach a point of re-transmissions and performance degrades before you reach a point where you see artifacts / crashes.
