Asus H170 Pro Gaming Stability

Hi,

I have planned for a new system build.I decided to go with i5-6500(Skylake)
Since I'm not interested in overclocking,I have decided to buy Asus H170 Pro gaming series chipset. But my friends are suggesting to go for Z170 pro gaming for better stability even though I'm not overclocking.

I guess the H170 Pro gaming and Z170 pro gaming has the same build quality and stable components, except the overclocking factor.

Please provide some suggestions and info on this.

Cheap name brand boards are just as stable as the expensive ones since they covered by at least the same 3 year warranty period. The last thing Asus etc wants in a cutthroat declining market is a mass RMA on their budget mobos.

Anybody who says otherwise is drinking the marketing FUD Kool-Aid. It's akin to saying Celerons are less stable chips than i7s solely by the huge price differential.

No stability differences. The difference between Z and H is overclocking abilities. If anything, the H170 systems will be more stable since overclocking is a big open door to instability. If you're not overclocking, there's no real reason to get the Z board. I have the H170 PRO GAMING board and it has been perfectly stable for me. Any issues I've had seem related to Intel video drivers and they have been resolved in the months since I first built the machine.
