Cheers to all!
I have serious problem with an old laptop Asus G73JH.I try to describe the problem.I installed fresh OS on this machine with all update,i update latest driver for video card 5870m but.my machine it freeze randomly over and over again. When I boot in windows my mouse cursor is freezing and my laptop no longer respond.Only power buton want 🙁
Same if I start any game after a while same error:my image freezing, and sound too...Is weird because one day if I let him one day stay with image freezing, and not even give BSOD(blue screen).I don t understand
Windows report in minidump files next error:
Bug Check 0x124: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR
I try to understand this error but im sure is HARDWARE problem not software.Someone can tell me please what is it about
-CPU problem?
-GPU problem?
-or ram problem?
I double, I triple checked temp at gpu and cpu,and gpu(5870m) have 53 degree in idle and 73 degree in full load and cpu(i7 q720) have 46 sometime 55 or 60 degree in idle and in full load 66-70.From what I read on google about this error is 99% hardware problem
Someone who had this old laptop can help me to understand and resolve this ugly error?

Thanks,

p.s if I start old game like Stalker-Shadow of Cernobal I encountered the same problem after a while my laptop is freezing+sound too.I feel like I'm crazy. I do not know what to do 🙁

WHEA is Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA), essentially your OS is detecting an uncorrectable fatal hardware error.

Since it's a fresh windows install, this means it is a hardware issue, but it's not telling you specifically what it is.

I'd try some different RAM, but if that doesnt do it, you'll spend awhile trying to figure out what's wrong with it.

I try to start my laptop now but I think is dead.Sometime it show me logo Asus and freeze, and another time I have black screen and laptop shut down after 5 second.
I try to remove every ram memory,no ram issue.
Faulty CPU or GPU?

From what I have read about this laptop, it has two major flaws:
1. It overheats, almost from day 1 (let alone after years of dust accumulation).
2. It does not run well with a video driver that isn't on the Asus driver page.

My suggestion would be to dust it out first. If that doesn't work, take the heatsinks off and re-apply thermal paste to the CPU and GPU. If that doesn't work, or you are uncomfortable doing so, buy a NEW laptop.

Here is a video on disassembly:
