I'm wanting to upgrade the current processor in this particular notebook. Unfortunately for me, I've had very little luck trying to find the information from Asus or on the web.

What are my best options for Duo core and Quad?

I'm currently running the P8700 processor and it shows a P45/43 chipset with CPUID.

Thank you for your help

1 of the things that I tell people when they buy their laptops is the check the processor and the video card, as they are things that will be almost impossible and very expensive to replace specially to a processor of a newer generation.

Good luck

I've scoured the internet and even the notebook forums before I posted here. I was hoping to find expert advice.

I bought the notebook knowing it was a generation back with processors but it has a pretty mean gpu as far as notebooks/price is concerned.. (bang per buck is arguably unrivaled- I paid $825 for this)

Will this accept the T9600? T9900?

This is an interesting yet perplexing little notebook be sure!
So according to what I read this can get:

Q9000
T9900
T9800
T9600

And it can go with the P9700!

I kind of like the P9700 w/ the 6MB L2/3 cache that runs @ the same Watts as my current 2.53.. I get double the cache and a few extra mhz to play with without having to boost the over-all wattage by purchasing the "T" series or quad core processors.

I'm a gamer and I do a little bit of photoshop and I hope this will work out?

I don't know if you got yours from Best Buy or not, but they said that the series that BB sold does not support the quad cores. I guess I should have asked how your temps were now before I said it was okay to go putting one of those higher frequency chips in there and assuming it wouldn't overheat.
