Hi guys :).

I have a couple of questions regarding this notebook: ASUS ROG G501VW-BSI7N25

I am probably going to buy it, I love the slim chassis and the specs are otherwise ideal for me, but I would have to install two parts in order for it to be viable. It only has 8GB of DDR4 RAM, I would however want 16GB (I use a lot of Photoshop and the like).
Also, I would like to install a 256GB SSD in order to run the OS and some applications from it.

I wanted to ask advice about which parts to get.

The G501VW-BSI7N25 comes with an empty PCIe x4 slot to install an SSD in.
For the SSD, I'm looking at this Model: SAMSUNG SM951 M.2 256GB PCIe 3.0 SSD - OEM

Can you confirm that this would work well with the Laptop? Any concerns? Do you have good recommendations for alternatives (I haven't found much out there)?
On top of that, does anyone have a good guide or tutorial on setting that SSD up properly once I install it? Moving the OS over and arranging it to work well with the 1TB HDD?

The G501VW-BSI7N25 comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz soldered to the motherboard and 1x DIMM socket for expansion up to 16GB. Meaning I'm in the Market for an 8GB DDR4 SODIMM. I don't know the cas latency and timing of the on board RAM though (I wrote an email to support and will edit the info in once I get an answer). Is that relevant? Do I go with the fastest RAM possible or do I take another 2133 MHz model? What should I look out for? I have no clue. Any recommendations?

Here's a link to all 8GB DDR4 SODIMMs that Newegg.com has to offer for your convenience: Which one would you take?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Best,

Amaro

EDIT: So, Support called me to tell me that they are not able to make out the cas latency and timing of the installed ram, because it is the kind that is soldered on board and not inserted via SODIMM. They are not even able to make out the manufacturer. I thought it was really funny that the ASUS support center doesn't have access to that sort of information! xD They don't know what parts they put in their own laptops xD!
I read up some stuff and decided it would be wisest to get a 8GB DDR4 RAM SODIMM at the same frequency (2133MHz) and that everything else probably matters quite little.
