i have an older asus extreme 6600GT that runs about 47/68 C idle/load. wanted to put a VF700 on it to cool it down and possibly squeeze a little more out of it. I just wasn't sure if i should leave the asus heatsinks installed on the ram or use the Zalman sinks in the VF700's kit.
will the asus extreme sinks clear the VF700? would it be better to remove the asus ram sinks anyway to remove the thermal glue and apply something better?
any input is appreciated. thanks.
