Seems like a device without a clear purpose but yet not enough functionality to compete with real tablets.

Will this product let the user highlight/underline/take notes on the pages being viewed?

It's not meant to compete with other tablets. Its a E-reader/Note reader/writer. So Instead of having a paper notebook you would replace it with this device.

Will this product let the user highlight/underline/take notes on the pages being viewed?

I am interested in this as well, It has not come out in the US yet. And people are selling it on ebay for 400 bucks!

Asus says Q12011 at 230 bucks, but I think it will be 199.99

a Taiwanese site says its a ""Wacom electromagnetic handwritten notebook computer""

edit: Yep You can highlight/underline.

That's an e-ink display, correct? And it looks like it's running Android.

But the battery life listed sucks - why not pay an extra $50 and get a Nook Color? Color screen, similar battery life and microSD expansion.

Agreed, Nook is a tough one to beat. Even harder when 2.2 and the market comes shortly.

B&N was misquoted, their market is coming soon, unfortunately, not "the" Android market.

Although, with the current hacks, which have been automated now, you have access to the market with a fairly simple process...

It'd be stupid for BN to make it difficult for developers to release their free apps - I don't see it being any different than the other market's out there. Regardless, the Nook Color is HARD to beat right now, in terms of a tablet.

After I got full market access, I'm really happy with mine.

Same - I have Aldiko, makes it even better ;)

I use Aldiko as well. Calibre is good for any conversion and cover shots. With a 4.3" phone I am finding it hard to justify $150 or more for a 6" screen.

It is not an E-ink display. Its a High DPI screen, I forget the res.

Edit: Updated the OP with the info Its a XGA, 768x1024 (3:4) screen with 2540dpi res

Can you handwrite notes in a nook color? You cant so this product and the nook do not compare. This is not a run in the mill android tablet. Its basically a Digital Notepad.

This product runs Linux, not android. And it does have a microSD expansion

Ok, so now I'm stuck trying to figure out what market this is going to be for. Also, is it backlit?

I don't blame them for not releasing in the US. Too much competition for this device to suceed.

The device still has many bugs, and issues. But I cant see them not releasing it because of too much competition as there are no competitors for it. Its main function is the Wacom panel. Which is for drawing, and hand writing notes. Maybe becuse of the bugs/issues?

Currently there are no other device on the market that can compare.

I might be in denial as I did want this device. but since the tablet still has bugs they are just saying it wont be released so that there is no deadline to hit for consumers. As they had kept setting deadlines, and missing them.

Meh what ever lol, Ill wait until Aug and then decide if I should buy one from Ebay.
