I recently purchased a pair of the above mentioned cards to run in Crossfire on my MSI P45 Platinum LG 775 mobo. I have a fresh install of XP Pro up to date, and the latest Cat drivers installed (8.9). I cannot get these cards to run in any anti-aliasing mode, be it set in the game or in Catalyst Control Center. I've tried FEAR, Crysis Warhead, City of Heroes, Tabula Rasa, Warhammer Online, Quake 4, Stranglehold and Stalker so far. I'm pretty frustrated at the moment, and I hope someone here will be able to help me out, or give me and idea of what to try next.

Oh, I also tried Cat 8.8 drivers (didn't work), and the MSI bios is up to date, as well as the Intel chipset. been fighting with this for 3 days now, been all over the net reading forums trying to find an answer but have found nothing that addresses my exact problem. I'm regretting switching from nVidia. Please help!

So what happens when you try to run AA? Crash? lag etc?
Need a bit more info into the problem.

what i'm about to say you won't wanna hear. but if you can return the cards without penalty do it fast and get yourself a single 4870 1gb or gt260+. You'll have a much better time computing.

Sure "dual gpu" sounds nice, it'a hip thing to do for "enthusiasts", it's such a trendy thing to do dual-gpu that guys are talking like they have achieved something great in life if they have 2 gpus in their rig... but at end of day, dual-gpu solution has a low reward/time-spent-fixing ratio. Get something that is proven, works great, minus the countless "googling for fixes" hours. Get 260+ or 4870 1gb.

Sorry didnt help you much, but i'm sure google is your best friend.

There's no crash, no lag. It's as if you did not try to enable AA at all. Running Crysis: Warhead in 1680x1050 without AA on, go to option screen, select AA x2 or x4, accept settings, resume game, game continues to run without AA. Setting AA on directly from CCC yields the same results, if set during a game, before starting a game, setting then rebooting, etc.

I don't have Crossfire, I've seen there are some games where re-naming the executable gets AA working:
AA workaround thread for ATi cards

Been a while since I've played Crysis, but don't you have to set the AA, then shut down Crysis, re-start the game?

Have you tried other games? Does AA function in any other games? Or is it just Crysis Warthead <-- intentional. ;)

As I said in the original post, I've tried Warhead, FEAR, Warhammer Online, Quake 4, and several other games, and they all act the same: it's as if I have not tried to activate AA at all. I've tried activating using the game options then restarting, setting AA in CCC then starting the game, setting AA in both and rebooting the computer, and every combination you can make. No method seems to work in any of the games I have tried, using Cat 8.9 and Cat 8.8.

nRollo- I'll check out that link you posted.
