Also some of the cheaper wireless n sticks don't have multiple receivers and thus can only do 150mbps instead of 300.

I just wish they didn't have to make these USB adapters so damn big. I have a Rosewill 2.4GHz adapter that you can barely see when it's in the port, and it pulls 4 bars consistently.

There's a lot of features in this thing though, including 5GHz which is why I bought it, and its an Access Point too, which i didn't even notice when I bought it. I've never seen one of those micro dongles with all of the features this one has.

I don't plan to use it with a laptop (at least not primarily), so its size isn't a problem for me, but Newegg and Amazon reviews say that it's pretty light and won't harm your laptop's usb ports (as long as you don't apply a ton of pressure to it).

if they made them small people would be complaining about the reception because the antenna is undersized. besides, i normally use usb extension cables with these anyway, so i can place it anywhere i want- out of the way.

this is a HOT deal because it claims there is no install cd required.

which reminds me of MY favorite adapter- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-pla-_-NA-_-NA

the fact that there is a small nand chip built in just to hold the drivers is CRUCIAL for ease of use sake.
this asus adapter claims to do the same thing, the only difference i see is the 5ghz ability which the cisco AM10 does not have. youre basically paying $10 more for the 5ghz, which to me is well worth it.

so, at $25 shipped, with 5ghz and built in flash memory- this looks to be my new favorite pick.

great find.

Just ordered one, thanks OP. I had been looking for a quality wireless N adapter, the one I had been using was one of those short ones and the reception was crappy. Bought a ASUS RT-N56U last week so I'm looking forward to this.

I just recieved mine in the mail today and I paid $34 for mine. I wonder if I can call and get a price match?

Call them right now and see. They'll usually do a price match up to the day of delivery.

Just received this thing in the mail (yay Shoprunner). First of all, it's bigger than expected. I can't see myself using this on a laptop with any regularity. That said, it works great and does everything I'm asking it to do. Only annoyance is that there's nowhere to put the cap when it's plugged in, which means I will inevitably lose it within a week. Still, highly recommend if you need a FAST 5GHz usb stick that can also function as an access point.
