I have been debating wether to overclock my system and reading posts for hours. The only OC experience I have is using the default ASUS OC options in BIOS. I am just looking to get a little extra preformance for some games. My questions are:
Do the default OC options in ASUS BIOS work well?
If not:
How long did your first OC take you to do successfully and how long does it generally take an experienced person to do?

If the ASUS default OC parameters I guess its back to reread and try to get a better understanding of how to OC.

I have:
CPU: Q6600
MB: ASUS P5Q Pro
RAM: mushkin 4G (2x2G) DDR2-1066 5-5-5-15
Vid: ASUS 4850

Thanks for looking!

Take a look in here: http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2194703&enterthread=y

And here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...howthread.php?t=189437

The mobo you have is actually really good for OCing, & not that hard to figure out either.

If you want a template listing of all the settings to start out with for a basic OC, shoot me a PM.

There are also lots of templates posted in both those threads.

Here is some my settings, with a bunch of them lowered or simplified to AUTO for you.
