I put together this computer. I turn it on, all lights fans HD and stuff turn on. No vid, but the board beeps long continuously that according to the manula means that the ram has not been detected or is bad. I switched out the ram and put in one from my working computer and still no boot up. Can anything else be wrong and giving me these continuous beeps?

ASUS CUV4X
P3 733
256mb pc133
60G WD 5400 drive
generic NIC
ATI rage2c AGP

any help would be appreciated

Ok, after reading EVERY post about no boot, i tried several things to no avail.

I took out the mobo out of the case and put it on a cardboard box and tried to turn on, no vid and long continuous beeping (according to manual that means something is with the ram)

I took every component out (including the ram) except the cpu and tested it in my computer that works and they work fine.

I tried clearing the CMOS by shorting out the thingies according to the manual, still nothing and the same beeps.

I tried reseating everything, i took out the p3 and reseated it reaplied as2 and hsf, reseated ram (about 100 times!) and vid card and still nothing and those same continuous beeps.

I tried switching the power supply with one that works on my working comp and still nothing and those same damn beeps.

Put in working ram and tried different slots and combos tried filling every different possible combinations with 3 dimms, 2dimms, and 1 still all the same, no boot and the same beeping.

all lights on the mobo turn on, all fans turn on, the HD turns on, CD-ROM turns on just no POST and those repetitous beeping sounds.

HELP I AM DESPERATE!!!!!!

is your processor EB(133) or E(100). Check all jumper pins if you set the proper fsb for the processor.

Try removing the battery and the AC plug and short the pins for about 30 seconds. Make sure the jumper free enable jumper is set to default(pins 2 and 3 shorted I think.) Set all dip switches to off. Good luck.

My processsor is just E. I have all my settings on jumperfree mode. Should I change them? I will try taking out the battery and clearing CMOS. thanks for the help guys. Atleast you guys don't think that the CPU is dead.
