I have a strange problem I was wondering if anyone might have a solution to.
I built a system with a cuv-4x and p3-667. Everthing worked fine for about a year. I decided to upgrade to 1Ghz so I updated my bios on the cuv-4x to something like 1009. Everthing worked great again. I then needed the 1Ghz chip in another system so I took it out of the cuv4x and placed it in another system. About 3 months later I decided to put the 667 back in the cuv4x. Problem. The computer did not boot at all. After struggling for a couple of days I thought about trying the 667 chip in another motherboard and it worked fine. I then tried putting another 1Ghz in the cuv4x and that worked fine, the computer booted successfully. I then tried putting a 700E in the cuv4x and it would not boot. I have tried all the different bios versions and have tried setting the jumpers manually on the motherboard. I guess I can just go and buy another processor or motherboard, but I like reusing what I have.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Robert Johnson
