Asus cusl2 will boot at default cpu speed

when ever I shut down my computer and later start it up again it will post 701 mhz even when my P3700 is OC @933. Why does it do this?

Just exit and save the BIOS without changing anything and you're back in business... 🙂 Dunno why it does this, and would love to have a way to keep all the bios settings "LOCKED" so I can give an overclocked machine to someone and not worry about them tweaking anything...

You either have the "cold boot" problem, or you need to update to a newer BIOS version.

Make sure that you have either 1003 Final or 1005 Beta 007.

I also suggest increasing the voltage by 0.05 volts, since you seem to have no problems actually reaching that speed (if you are at default speed).

What the cold boot problem refers to is that the CUSL2 does not load user defined voltage settings until AFTER POST. There are some CPUs that cannot boot up at the overclocked speed without additional voltage. If this is the case, then a warm boot is needed to boot properly at the higher speed.

Hey Andy, just order my third cusl2 today.. or was it forth.. anyway, I never tried the 1005 bios.. aint' broke, dont fix idea... but just curious.. whats the difference if u know any ?

There is supposed to be a very good performance gain going to 1005 Beta 006 over 1003 Final. Many problems have been fixed, and most people seem very happy with the 006 Beta. There seem to be issues with the latest BIOS, 007 Beta.

Go over to the forums at CUSL2.com and ask someone to email you the 1005 beta 006 BIOS, since it is no longer available on ASUS's FTP.

Beta 1006 didn`t help my "cold boot" problem, any other fixes?
Celeron 566 @850 1.8 v , not much on that cusl2.com site.
