I'm using it with P!!! 733 right now. :) I bought it for about US$ 150. Expensive huh!!!

This board is fast, and the ATA-100 works great.

I talked to ASUS America sales today, and they quoted me the 3rd week in July. The guy would not give me an MSRP though. I called back to get another guy and he wouldn't give me a price either.

Hey Mem what are they quoting the price at in the UK?

CamaroGuy,

The price here in the UK for ASUS CUSL2 is being quoted at £136.30,(at dabs.co.uk).Infact it is at the same(UK) price as the ASUS KV7 Athlon board at dabs.

The ABIT 815 boards seem to be out now...just curious, do you folks think ASUS makes better boards than ABIT?

HK$1500 -> ~ US$205, ouch.
Damn, and I thought that paying up to $200 would do it. It is going for around the same price in Japan, ~21,000 yen.
And about the previous comment on Asus boards versus Abit boards, some benches have shown the Asus board to be significantly faster than the rest of the pack, including Abit.

Hey has anyone noticed that in Tom's latest article, the Asus CUSL2 was not apart of the comparison between the i815 boards? Dunno why he did this but if one goes into the "Solano Final" article and uses the benches which were from a CUSL2, the CUSL2 woulda whooped every other i815 board's butt. It should be ok to do this, they used the same setup and the P3B-F scores were identicle in both articles.

Those of you who saw prices listed for this board, do you know if those are for the board with the onboard audio, or without?

I want a board without since I'll be using my SBLive. I figure that those without audio should be a little cheaper since there are fewer components. The pictures on ASUS' website show the board without audio. ASUS told me that both flavors are being marketed under the same part number (CUSL2) and consumers will have to look at the information given by the vendors to determine if the board comes with audio. I have a feeling most vendors, especially online stores, are not going to know that there is optional audio and that it's possible to get two different versions under the same part number. Hopefully I'm wrong on this assumption.

BTW Charles, what version did you get? Just curious.

I saw CUSL2 and CUSL2-M with audio today. PCB rev 1.01. Heh...the CUSL2-M was even more expensive than the normal version....strange...:)

The Asus CUSL2(without onboard audio) will be slightly cheaper then the onboard sound one,I been checking the price here in the UK, on the Asus KV7 (without audio) & it`s cheaper then the K7V with audio,so you should save a little cash(not much but it`s better then nothing). The Asus CUSL2 here in the UK at dabs website(dabs.co.uk) has AV(AUDIO/VIDEO) so it`s got onboard audio,Hopefully they will have the price on the CUSL2 no audio model soon.

I have the one without onboard audio :). Board Rev 1.02

:) :)

Note: Abit SE6 comes with an older INF and Ultra ATA driver. Asus CUSL2 has a newer driver in the cdrom and AsusUpdate is included.

By the way, there's a newer drivers for i815 at http://support.intel.com.
