Asus CUSL2 vs. Intel i815 solution

I'm piecing together a computer for the first time and have come down to needing the motherboard. I've always liked big reliable brand names, so Intel was my first choice for a motherboard.

I'm being talked out of the Intel board and into a Asus CUSL2 by some guys at work. I'm looking to run a PIII (866 or 933mhz, not sure which yet).

Reliability, stability, and dependability are the big needs on this one. I don't want a motherboard that is going to crash or lock up on me every few days. How's everyone's luck with the CUSL2 board so far? And the Intel?

Also, I'm having a heck of a time finding a place online that has CUSL2 boards in stock for a decent price. Where are some recommendations of where I could look?

intel boards = very few features excellent quality (quality because you cant do anything extreme with them like OC so they are reliable)
Asus boards = lots of features really good quality.

get the CUSL2 you WONT be sorry. They are just awesome boards. Intel is nice if you just want all the basics and dont want to worry about it ever failing (not that the CUSL2 would tho)
as for where to get one I got it at neutronet.com. it will set you back at least 150 but is well worth it for the options it has.

Go with the CUSL2. It does have the Intel 815e chipset, and it uses Intel drivers, which I updated from the Intel website. With this board I think you get the best of both worlds, Intel quality, and ASUS features. Later when you decide to tweak, optimize and overclock you'll be glad you went with this board. I just installed it last Friday with a 700e and it has taken everything I've thrown at it- including the "troublesome" SB Live. This is a very stable board, especially if you install properly..

I`m another highly satisfied CUSL2 owner, great board best I`ve had so far... I`ve tried most everything else and always come back to ASUS they just do it better IMPO...

Don't want to turn this into a NASCAR thread but... Yeah Bart Earnhardt was awesome. I'm not a 3 fan (don't dislike him either), but he sure always makes it exciting..

Don't know about the RMA's elsewhere but we get Intel's AWR in South East Asia.That means if the board fails,call the ICS and the board will arrive the next day FedEx at no extra cost.Insert the faulty board back into the shipping box and FedEx will collect again at no cost.
Different matter if you decide on overclocking which you would have to look at the Asus or MSI.
