so here's the problem,
i built my bro's computer using the asus cusl2, a 30 gig maxtor 7200rpm drive, 16x plextor burner, 733 mhz pIII, 32 meg geforceII gts, etc.
my problem is that the computer doesn't detect the cdrom drive occasionally (have to reboot for it to detect). and we tried installing winxp and the during the install some files were skipped (i know the cd is good since we had a perfect install on someone else's computer using the same cd).
also, when we tried to overclock (before reinstalling the os) the computer would start up and then say improper fsb freq ratio or something along those lines.
we haven't updated the bios or anything else related to the motherboard since purchasing the mobo (about a year and a half ago).
I apologize if there was a thread about this earlier, but i didn't know what to exactly look for. so if there is a thread about this could you please direct me to it? if not, i would really appreciate your help, since this is really a pain in the ass, and my bro's got papers to write and all that fun stuff.
thanks,
ronnie
