hello

I own Asus CUSL2-M M/B with 1003 bios.

I realized that the lastest bios for this M/B is 1006a.

I was wondering if there's an obvious reason to upgrade

my bios(i.e critical bug fix, critical functionality/compatibility

issue resolved, etc...)

On the web page, it only says it's the lastest release but doesn't

specify what updates were made in detail...

By the way I'm running W2K and it seems to work fine so far. I didn't run

into any problem that couldn't be resolved with a little bit of tweaking...

If I do update bios, do I have to re-install my OS from the scratch?

thanx for your help in advance

You should not have to reinstall your OS after a bios update. Often a bios update corrects a bew bugs in the bios and may speed up your computer slightly. Sometimes a bios update adds support for more processors or more tweaking functions within the bios. If a new bios is available I would definately give it a try. It certainly can't hurt anything.
