Just got a new 29160N. Put it in my ASUS CUSL2. POST get's though the IDE stuff then just locks up. Never gets to the SCSI 29160 banner. Take out the 29160, and windows boots.
Once in a while the 29160 does work fine, but never twice in a row after power down.
Called Adaptec, they told me to try updating the ASUS BIOS. I did (to ver. 1006a), but same problem. Adaptec still says it's a MB BIOS problem. Any suggestions? I've tried other PCI slots and forcing the IRQ to 09 or 11. Also tried udating the ASUS BIOS to ver 1006a (newest version), and the Adaptec has the latest BIOS on it.
Other cards installed: ATI Radion DDR 32MB AGP, SB Live!5.1, Kingston network card (for cablemodem), Cheapo PCI 56k modem.
