Within the past week I purchased an ASUS motherboard and installed an Intel Pentium III 800EB FCPGA processor. The VCORE Voltage reading on the processor was fluctuating within a range of 1.5-1.82v (1.65v is the normal reading). After speaking with an Intel Tech support person he indicated to me that the motherboard's voltage regulator control's this reading. How do I go about fixing this problem? I have emailed ASUS and still waiting for a response from them. Do I need a BIOS update? Since no operating system has yet been installed as the temperature of the motherboard goes up to 51 degrees Centigrade at which point I shut it down, how can I possibly do a BIOS update (should this in fact be necessary)?

I'd say above 60 for a sustained temp, small spikes over that are ok. That's assuming no overclocking.

Oh oh, I have same CPU and thinking to switch to CUSL-2 motherboard. Guess I need to do more research before I jump into the same boat. Good luck for solving the problem.
