Remeber this problem from the P3V4X days.. the clock generator gets hella hot in this mobo too.. I know my CPU can do more than it so far has shown me in this mobo..

I'm really beginning to wonder.. my CPU can boot windoze at 143 FSB (1000 MHz)

I am currently running 933 cause not even 959 is 100% stable right now.

What do y'all think? time for some HSF and arctic silver action on there???

I have similar blues here. I can boot up @ over 1Ghz but it becomes unstable. It's perfect at first but goes bad after a while. Same mobo and same CPU. Got arctic silver under green HS and on CPU. hmmm makes me wonder too...

Yeah no kidding!
take a look for yourself, feel how hot the chip is. it's beside the 3 dimms to the right near the edge of the board. above the IDE and floppy, it's a little rectangle chip.. mine almost burns my hand!
I think I am going to put some sort of HSF on there I am positive it will help my OC cause it seems to want to work but just doesn't cut it...

Anyone? is it a BIOS issue? will I be wasting money and time if i cool this thing?

Id have to order some stuff online but if it's just a BIOS issue I'll look into that instead

someone's gotta know. :p
