Was wasnting to know if anyone would happen to know how i can enable 4x AGP on this board:

Asus CUC2000.

my Vid card is Geforce2 MX 32Mb that supports 4x AGP,but can't seem to find out how to enable 4x AGP on this board.
also checked the manual and all i seen in there was something about AGP Pro Slot.
but i checked for the "Pin" they mentioned to remove, but there was none in the AGP Slot.
not sure if that was even how to enable 4X AGP or not.

any help on this would be appreciated.

The CUC2000 was subject to a recall due to the i820 MTH issue.

AGP4X should be enabled in the BIOS under Advanced.

I've looked all through the Bios with no luck finding anything about AGP4X.

could it be because of my Bios version maybe?

i have version 1011.

Sorry, as far as I can tell, you are correct. There is no AGP speed setting available in the BIOS.

The latest BIOS for this board is Version 1025 Beta 002.

Again, please note that this board was subject to a recall and ASUS have completely stopped support for this board.

AndyHui, Thanks for the link and info.

i read somewhere about the board being a recall.

what was the big issue with it?i've seen no problems with it as of yet.
other then not being able to change to 4X AGP.but hopefully the Bios flash will fix that.
but if not,i may just let it be for now without risking messing the board up with a bad flash.

when you say recall, will Asus take the board back and give me another one?or how does that work?

There was an issue with the i820 Memory Translator Hub (RDRAM->SDRAM) that caused data corruption and instability. It is also the reason for the very strict and somewhat strange SDRAM size and placement requirements.

Although ASUS generally manufactures boards with great stability, a chipset based issue caused a recall of all i820 + MTH (SDRAM) motherboards on Intel's advice.

Both the P3C2000 (Slot 1) and the CUC2000 (Socket 370) were affected. At the time, you were supposed to go to your dealer, and they would swap your board for a P3V4X or CUV4X.

I assume that this arrangement has long since expired, so I can offer no other advice but to talk to the ASUS distributor.

I'm prob to late for the recall now it seems.

Ok i went ahead and updated Bios to the "1021" version.
never saw the Beta version you mentioned anywhere.i seen that the 1021 was Beta, but nothing on the one you posted.

still nothing in the Bios about the 4x AGP.

i seen a jumper about voltage for the PCI,AGP etc.does 4x AGP have a higher voltage?
thats the only thing i see that may switch it to 4x AGP.
