I'm thinking of building a new system and I just want something that is very stable. The CUBX seems nice because of the extra IDE and USB options. The CUSL2 seems interesting because of the future possibilities.

Each has its boosters and detractors. Your opinion?

The Asus CUSL2 is more flexible with all the latest extras like ATA-100 & AGP4x,plus better for overclocking so go with this board IMHO.

CUSL2, CUBX uses old chipset even though it's very refined.

But I rather have newer product with all the bugs instead of the bx, i'd been microsoft brainwashed, new os with bugs is better then old product with service pack fixs.. or are they the same.

The ASUS CUSL2 (Intel 815E chipset) and the ASUS P3V4X (VIA 133A chipset) are both AnandTech Editor's Choices, while the CUBX is not.

The cubx is not a bad board, & it is mature. It doesn't need all kind
of new drivers just to run. If you run just windows then probably the
cusl2 will do. I need support on multiple os's therefore a bx mobo is
the most stable board for me.

As for Via , just search for P3V4X & you'll see some users have problems w/ the via chipset.

I run 5 diff. operating systems none of them have any problems on the
BX chipset period.... Check my specs. everything works..

No one ever likes owning the last year that a model for a car came out knowing that they could have waited one year and got all the new features of the new model.

And now you don't even have to wait...
CUSL2 is the way to go!!

Definitely go for the CUSL2, I think it's no coincidence that everyone in this thread agrees. ;)

Compatibility and performance are no problems for the CUSL2. Just make sure that you have the latest ATA and inf drivers from Intel.

I've never bothered to actually benchmark the system, but I can't see any difference between the CUSL2 and the P3B-F.
