Ive heard the board has a good rep.and im picking one up,with cpu prices falling thru the roof i was planning on just getting a nice unoced chip. What r my limits?will this board take a straight ghz or 933?Im not ocing this one as i am seeking the most stable platform possible to last me thru the winter at least.ANy info would be appreciated!!!!

well if you just want it to last through the winter that isn't bad... but the cubx board uses the old bx chipset which means it doesn't support the 133mhz bus... you could probably run a 133 bus processor but your agp slot would be over clocked and most agp cards can't handle it... i would suggest a similar cuv4x (yeah that sounds right) or a bit more expensive but much better is the cusl2 or the cusl2c or if you want support for tulatin (the next p3 core) tusl2c...

yep...he's right. although two of my systems are BXs which are fast and rock-stable but I must admit it's not using the full potential of some of things i have. the highest current fcpga cpu that you can use is probably a 900 @ 100mhz bus. although intel will be releasing a 1ghz and 1.1ghz @ 100mhz bus soon. if you are still intent on buying one just make sure you buy the cubx-e...i think that's the one with the promise controller on it...the cubx-l gave people some problems because of its controller.

I like mine, but if I was buying now it would be the CUSL2 the others spoke of. The ATA controller on the original board is not that good. Until I flashed the bios to the newest recently, it would take Nero close to a minute to open. But, overall, I've been pleased.

Most newer BX boards should do 133Mhz with no problems. I guess the same could be said for agp cards. With that said it's not "garenteed" to work but most probably would since the CUBX is one of the "latest" BX boards. FYI I am running 133Mhz bus on my ABIT BE6-2 with Geforce 1 DDR without any BX133 related problems.
