Asus Crash Free?

I was flashing the bios on an Asus M2N-E and believe it or not, the power went out. I've read about something called "Asus Crash Free" that supposedly can recover it but I haven't been able to get it to work. Is it possible to restore the BIOS or am I boned? I was thinking about a new motherboard anyway as this is only a regular AM2 board.. but it would still be nice to fix.

How are you trying to do the recovery -- are you using the motherboard system CD or a flash drive? If you are using a flash drive, the drive has to be less than 8gb in size and formatted in a single FAT partition.

If you can't get it to work, thevan's suggestion of a replacement BIOS should be workable. Just make sure that the bios chip you buy matches or is compatible with the existing chip.

I've given up on the Crash Free; the Asus rep asserted that it wouldn't work.

As far as I can tell, the BIOS chip appears to be replaceable (socketed) so hopefully Asus will just send me a new one. If not then there's always Ebay and BIOSMAN (interesting site btw).
