Thing is that the P5B Deluxe hits higher fsb than in those 2 reviews of the Commando.
Not to mention the Gigabytes & the AB9 QuadGT...

I have the Commando and its been awesome!

Running right now with my C2D 6400 @ 3.5 (500*7) 1:1 with my Patriot memory. No issues, no buzz, no problems. Board is rock solid!

That Asus utility won't work if you disable all the adv. cpu settings. On mine it only works at default mobo settings.

I'm renaming the Commano to the Commandblow .... haha...

cobrasvt ,

What settings did you change in bios ? and what version of the bios are you using ? I'm on 803 .

Jose

I just pulled the trigger on mine. Newegg should have it to me by tomorrow or Monday. If this thing dies Im moving to the Abit FP-IN9. Wish me luck

*tosses luck*

I did love the colors...and the layout wasn't too bad either. But the noise pushed me away.

I beleive it was intended for "crossfire" I'm not sure. I would have bought even if it had only 1 PCIE.

Newegg says mine is on the brown truck and should be at my door today.....

Ya I think they were intended for for Crossfire but I thought I had read someone getting SLI working. Anyway keep us posted on your progress woodbutcher.

Well, I've been using the P5WDG2 ws pro for about 2 days and it's already a much better mobo than the commando.

Now I have a $280 mobo (commando) sitting in a box. 🙁

Who care's ...... I just got this : 18" driver.... http://www.tcsounds.com/lms5400.htm

Peace

Just got the commando up today, No prob at all. it's stock I'll need some study time on this but I like the bios. She's on water, Patriot 8500 memory. The memory was a concern because of what I read. The board specs 1.8v and this mem is 2.3. It does boot so you can kick the volts and timing in the bios. I'll play this weekend and post some results.

Just a heads up for those that subscribed to this thread, I've posted a new thread here and would appreciate all your input. I like this board!

Results of my new commando in sig, vcore @ 1.55v and NB @ 1.5v could probably push the memory more but I am leaving playing with the dividers till later

i have the asus P5N-E SLI and it doesnt buzz at all. i bought it the first week they came out though so i dont know if the first batch was better or what. maybe because their was no rma boards mixed into the batch because it was the beginning of launch??!?!?!? board has held a good overclock and no problems to speak of .......yet?!?!? ---------- ACID ------

Sorry to hear that the Commando's not working out for ya. After about 400 MHz FSB I would intermittently hear the buzzing and the ADI board also would not work. Otherwise it was a nicely featured board.

I have the P5W pro board as well and it has the same problem with the onboard audio. I switched over to an Audigy card. Its a solid performing board now that I understand how to tweak it.

I used clear nail polish on all the coils before I plugged any thing in, no buzzing at all. I'm disappointed with my OC but wtf, 3.4 ain't bad. What confuses me is the fact that stability is better using the Asus software than manual.

i'm planning to put my system together this weekend using the commando... i hope all goes well.. my other worry is if my Tuniq Tower 120 will fit the board
