Asus Commando + E4300 support? Yes/No?

I tried a search on E4300 and Commando and did not find an answer. Sorry if this has already been asked.

I was going to order an Asus Commando motherboard and E4300 C2D CPU, however, I noticed that under the Asus CPU Support listing for the Commando, the E4300 CPU is NOT listed.

The E4400 is, however. Is this an oversight, or does the Commando not support the E4300 C2D processor? Anyone with an E4300 on an Asus Commando, I'd appreciate your feedback.

Thank you.

why wouldn't it work? same socket type you will probably just have to manually input the FSB

Lack of CPU microcode update in the BIOS may cause the system not to POST at all. A number of board makers have had issues with the E4300 not booting with an older BIOS that did not officially support the E4300, but did support the E63xx, 64xx, 66xx, etc.

My confusion is that the 'official' Asus site shows that it does support the E4400, but the older E4300 is not listed.

It probably does support the E4300 or will with a BIOS update. Your best bet is to contact ASUS Support for confirmation and/or what BIOS revision is needed for the E4300.

My E4300 works on my Commando, however it runs RAM at the DDR533 setting instead DDR400 which would be 1:1 setting for it. Havent updated BIOS though.

There's a new BIOS issued (0902). I'll download and try later when I get home to see if it fixes the 1:1 memory setting.
