I may be building a system for somebody and I'm looking for decently priced burners (like $75) and i noticed a Asus 16x10x40 CD-RW is selling at quite a few places for around $75 and I'm wondering on their reliability. Thanks!

Have you considered the Lite-On 24x CDRW from Newegg.com? Quite a few people have those (including myself) and I KNOW they are great. I've also heard good things about Aopen.

While generally I recommend ASUS products, they have had a less than spectacular record with their optical drives, particularly OEM/non-retail units. A lot of their drives are very slow to spin-up and recognise media, but once they get going, usually they are OK. I haven't had direct experience with their CDRWs, but I would opt for brands more known in the CDRW products area.
