Hi it's me again... 😛

I couldn't find any benchmarking results or and any articles that directly compared those two specific brands of HD7750 (Unless I missed something?) so I've come here.... 😀

I was wandering which one you guys thought is better.

The asus branded one: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/AMD_Series/HD77501GD5/

...and the Gigabyte one: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4131#sp

One is OC' more to the GPU core but doe nothing to the memory core, but the other is a bit of both but of course less than that of the other one which focuses mainly on the GPU core...

This graphics card will be fitted on the computer with these current specs:

CPU - Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 @ 1.86GHz
GPU - Inno3D 9400GT(..will be replaced by one of these HD7750)
RAM - 4GB DDR2667 SDRAM
MB - Intel DP965LT
PSU - Thermaltake 430Watt, (I know it has 18amps on the one +12v rail)
HDD - Two HDDs, one PATA and one SATA
OD - DVD-RAM drive
OS - Microsoft Windows XP Professional x86 Edition

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Neither will have a major advantage on the other, at most a couple of FPS depending on the application and settings. If one is cheaper in OZ, get that one.

I bought an openbox Powercolor 7750 for $70. Works great... just has a ton of coil whine. For the price, I am not complaining though. I see quite a few 7750s on Newegg open box sales.. you might want to check it out. 🙂

Hm...well, from the two, I guess it boils down to preference....whether you like the more GPU core boost like the Gigabyte one is showing or a lighter yet "balanced" boost which does the memory and the GPU core clock as shown by the Asus one...

I'd get MSI or Sapphire. Personal preference for AMD cards.
Even if the other brands appear to be an OC' models, and that these are just "stock"?

Yeah, shouldn't matter - besides, they'll probably overclock to the same speeds.
Just only based on "stock" OC', I won't be doing any OC' myself though....

I'd buy whichever one is quieter.
Well, their design of cooling is quite similar....

Hm, I guess the Asus branded one is a tad bit more expensive than the Gigabyte branded one....I'm not actually sure why...maybe because of the "balanced" OC' as they do both the GPU core clock and the memory clock...whereas the Gigabyte one just focuses mainly on the GPU core clock....maybe "balance" might bring a tad bit more performance than an increase all to the GPU core alone....but I might be wrong, GPU core clock speed does have a major impact on fps wise I would assume....but I guess that would depend on the game(s) you're playing, as some are more GPU core hungry than others while others love eating up memory? 🙂

Did you end up purchasing the card? Our computers are very similar. I was wondering what you thought of it since my decision is just the same as yours.

Doesn't matter which you get. The performance will be identical since that CPU is a major bottleneck in all current games. Also you are using Windows XP....Get whichever is cheaper / has longer warranty. You could just get a used GTX460 for much cheaper nowadays.

Windows XP = more performance for games than the other newer OSs... And the GTX460, as I believe, requires a 6-pin dedicated power connector to power the graphics card externally of which the current PSU cannot support...well actually it's got one, but seeing how it's only got one 18A for the +12V line....is probably not a safe choice....

Erm....nooo....I sort of *used* that cash to spend on something else...wooopssssss....:sneaky:😀😳😛 Hehehe... Oh well, looks like my 9400GT gets to stay longer in that case for the time being...until I get sick and tired of it's...err...well when it's the *bottleneck* of the game(s) I play on it...such as...Left 4 Dead 2 on max graphics at 1024x768@85Hz....god, less than 20fps 95% of the time! - and sometimes, it's actually *RAM* based as well, because when I play it for a long period of time, it says I don't have any more *RAM* left to feed the game and so then, either the game or the OS or both crashes and freeze and so I have to *hard* reset it...

But hopefully I shall get some again and try to pick out which one I shall get; I am leaning towards the Gigabyte brand as of today...mainly because of its higher GPU core clock speed than the others they sell and that it's cheaper than the Asus branded one...but then again, I like the Asus branded one due to past *positive* experiences....

The Gigabyte one was utterly ugly. ASUS one looks much better. I will vote for the ASUS one, just because that Gigabyte card was so ugly.

Wow, looks matter to someone when buying a graphics card? Ok, I would probably mind if it had a Barney the Dinosaur-themed HSF but that's about it.

OP - are noise levels important to you? If so, do a bit of research on that front. I'm not overly impressed with the default noise levels on my Gigabyte HD 5770 and I'm using MSI AfterBurner to set them to be something much more sensible so I can barely hear the card when it's idle.

Both of them don't looks amazing compared to more high-end card. It's not important criteria. Just pick GIGABYTE 7750 pre-overclocked card to get better performance.
