A little OE information in there:

The innards of the PSU series is based on Seasonic’s prime but optimized on components and heatsinks. When demanding games kick your system into high gear, a good PSU needs a well-designed fan to keep components cool without adding noise. The ROG Thor series PSUs are equipped with a patented 135mm Wing-blade fan design that can also be found on some high-end ASUS graphics cards. The design offers increased static pressure to cool components efficiently at lower RPMs than a traditional fan, and is certified IP5X dust-resistant to ensure a long lifespan.

These are going to be expensive.

Nah, Asus won't price too badly since the only differences are a OLED screen, RGB, fan, and that pretty ROG sticker. ;)

On a serious note, I'm really curious what they will go for? I'm guessing they will be at least $100 more than the comparable Prime model. But since they glow, people will buy it in droves.

That sticker alone is probably $10

Heck though, I'd probably consider one if it was bundled with a ROG board and graphics card... not really in the market though. All of that synced Aura RGB stuff is pure swag but it would probably look pretty cool in the right case, admittedly.

There's definitely a large, and growing market for the "The look I am going for with my PC is experiencing a Pink Floyd laser light show look" ;) , but the lights just don't do anything for me. I find them distracting, and all I want in a PSU is it to have a good build quality, efficient, and quiet.

I hear that. Quality/reliability above all else.

I'm sort of an adopter of both now. 10 years ago I bought only the highest end stuff regardless if it matched colors, glowed, or even looked that nice (looking at you brown PCB) but now I've come to appreciate a more "niche" look with my builds, since there is plenty of parts available that cater to it. I don't have any RGB stuff and I still buy quality but a few of my machines have single color LED's that accent the mobo, RAM, gfx, coolant lines etc.

I prefer the subtle approach these days. I'm long past the days of my pc looking like a car from the fast and the furious. Case is plain black. Could almost be mistaken for a Dell if not for its size. I'm running a high end evga that should last me the next 8 years. I have an antec power supply I replaced that was 8 years old. Only replaced it because of its age. It was in perfect condition otherwise.
