Asus A8V Mobo Ethernet Issues

Is an ethernet controller the same as an ethernet card? I have an Asus A8V mobo, and I am trying to hook up my DSL modem with no results. Do I need a seperate Ethernet card, or is my mobo just messed up?

If it has onboard ethernet, you don't need another card.

Yeah, it's all onboard...you just have to install the drivers...use the disc that came with the motherboard.

"Marvell Gigabit LAN Driver" as listed on the disc.
