Are you using PS2 Mouse/keyboard? Matrox G400 max dual-head?

Seems people cannot use a Matrox G400 or PS2 mouse/keyboard with the MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum motherboard. I bought this motherboard before hearing of these issues. I'm ready to sell it.

Has anyone setup a system with the Asus A8V Deluxe? I've got an AMD64 3000+ and it will not work on the MSI K8N Neo2 Plat with a Matrox G400 max.

thank-you in advance for any help,

:)

IF I sold it, IF, I'd probably want to get enough to buy an Asus A8V Deluxe. So I'd want at least $185 CAD. I haven't even used it. Apparantly many people have used PS2 mouse and keyboard so I guess I'll try it. I did a search and found almost as many problems with the Asus A8V as with the MSI Neo2, maybe more! Yikes.

Yeah. I just did that now and I find lots of Asus A8V problems. Lots of problems with everything I guess. You know we need more stats. Its hard to make a conclusion when you don't use statistics. I guess its all a crap shoot anyways...

Once I figured out I needed to flash a newer bios to get my AMD 64 3400+ to work I haven't had any issues. My A8V Deluxe has been working fine for a few months now...

Mine works fine now, but there was some kind of wierdness going on with my old antec power supply. Once I got a new one it booted right up and has been fine ever since.

I had to flash Bois from origianl before O/C doe to PCI locks not working properly other than that I love this board now running bata bois 1010.002 no real change from others. I was hoping that it would allow for a higher Vcore.

I just tried flashing to 1010.002 beta bios hoping that it would fix the infamous "AGP" problem with the 9700/9800 pro cards and also to see if it would help me overclock my ram any better since it won't even do above 230mhz at any timings and it is PC4000. I have a strong feeling it is the board that might be giving me the errors.

** 1010.002 beta bios did NOT work for me. My DVD Writer (Pioneer 108) was not detected after flashing and then when I tried to boot to windows, the screen flashed to a black screen with red bands on it and then restarted but didn't post. I had to switch it off and on again before it would post again. Flashing back to 1009 final bios fixed the problems though. Just a warning**

I recommend you stay on the 1009 final bios if you get the board. However, I personally am not liking this board as much as I'd hoped for since I have to turn my AGP to 4x and I can't seem to get a stable overclock of my ram. But other boards have their own problems. At the end of the day, it does the job and does it to an alright level, and hopefully when a GOOD bios update is released, it will be a great board :).

And if you read closely, you'll see that many of the problems that you do find are user error or inexperience.
