which would be the better motherboard since I've been seeing that the msi board seems to have quite a few issues and this comp is for someone who is not all that computer "literate" I guess I could say. He needs something that will run and will keep running.

thanks

This has been asked over and over again. While I'm not exactly bothered by that (I'll still answer your question), next time try to do some more researching. I've answered the same question earlier today in a different thread.

Anyway... In general, it's often like this:
Asus for reliability (i.e. durability, etc.)
MSI for performance (i.e. overclocking, etc.)

Each board of all manufacturers always have something broken or partially not working. It depends on what the real purpose of your new PC is going to be. If you're into overclocking and want the best from games, then MSI is the way to go. Otherwise you can go for Asus for a more general PC, while still being very competitive when it comes to gaming. You can't overclock this board as well as the MSI board.

So what's it gonna be? I say, go for Asus. Plenty of features and works nicely; I have it and I love it. :)
