Asus A8V deluxe not seeing SATA

I just bought a AMD 64 3800+ and an Asus A8V deluxe MB. When I boot up my PC it shows both of my drives on the start up screen. When I check in the bios it doesn't detect either of my SATA drives. I have a Seagate 120gig and a WD 200 gig. I tried downloading the recommended drivers off the VIA website and started a fresh install of Windows XP.

Everything seems to be ok but it gets to a point when it is starting the install that it asks me to insert the floppy disc with the Via Combo Raid Drivers. I have the floppy inserted but when I hit enter to read the disc it gives me a message that my disc is broken or not readable. I have tried 2 different discs and still get the same issue. I can't even install xp at all at this point.

Does anyone have any ideas? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Im having a similar problem so, lets see if we can get both our problems fixed. I had to dismantle my PC to fix a broken chipset fan, (Yes it is the Asus A8N SLI Deluxe =P), when I put my PC back together my 3rd harddrive will not show up. I put it back together just like I had it. I have 2 western digital 74g raptors in a RAID. Those show up as a RAID and are fine. But my seagate 160gig storage drive will not show up. Ive done nothing to the bios or settings. I simply took it apart to get the motherboard out, then put it back together.

Any thoughts there?

Does the board require installing an SATA driver? If not, you could also try using the jumper to clear your CMOS to see if it auto recognizes your drive.
