Hi all...
Just built a new computer with ASUS A8V Deluxe MB, AMD64 3000+, ATI Radeon 9800PRO, and Hitatchi 250GB SATA HD.
Installation of WinXP went pretty well, despite the multitude of SATA problems with this MB. However, I have a bizarre error plaguing me now. The Onboard LAN port worked for a while, but when I went to use the computer today, it will not respond. I don't believe the problem is with WinXP, since the router doesnt even see a cord connected (ie. the lights dont light up). No amount of mucking around in the BIOS seems to affect it. The only thing I can think of that might have done this is that I was trying to update the BIOS yesterday to ver. 1011 (the newest) without success (consequently, I have now been able to update, after the problems began). Also, I have tried to upgrade to the latest Marvell Driver (apparently the one that comes with the MB, but without internet cannot upgrade further).
Does anyone know why in the world the internet connection would not even begin to register right at power-on? I am really getting disgusted with this ASUS MB quickly (and from what I have read, many other people are too).
