Asus A8V Deluxe and Crucial Ballistix

Today for some reason when i restarted i had a CMOS checksum error and my BIOS settings went to default. Now i am getting random BSOD's and system freezes. I believe it has something to do with the bios ram settings, because when i first put this system together i had the same problem. i have went through all the bios settings and set the correct timings of 2-2-2-6 and 2.8v and all other settings i could remember before the bios was reset, but i am still getting the crashes which leads me to believe i am overlooking a setting or something.

Is there anyone out there who has a similar setup as this:

Crucial Ballistix pc3200 2x512mb running dual channel mode
Asus A8V Deluxe

Could you post your RAM timings, voltage, etc? 2T enabled or disabled?

Have you expierenced any blue screen errors or system crashes/freezes?

Thank you for your time

Do you have the product number for your Crucial Ballistix? Crucial was having some serious issues with their PC4000 and their PC 3200 concerning certain batches. I can't speak to the PC4000 but the batch# for the PC3200 that was giving grief was BL6464Z402.8TG. The revision batch sticks that end in 16TG are fine. Also, Crucial had to pull their 2x1 Gig kits. Its a shame, too, because this very good RAM and enthusiastes who had no issues love it.

How long have you owned your RAM before the issues began?

the batch number on this ram is CL11145.8F

this ram worked fine before my bios was reset, and i know it runs fine at the recommended timings of 2-2-2-6 and 2.8v for over a year now. i have re-set all my bios settings but still i am getting this blue screen and crashes which leads me to believe i am overlooking a setting.

anyone with this mobo/ram care to post their bios settings?
