Asus A8V Delux, ram/sata/mb issues

I have several issues... please reference the information below when appropriate (bold stuff is mostly what I am questioning).

I bought 2 sets of Dual Channel OCZ Gold Rev. 2 PC4000, yet one of the 4 sticks identifies as OCZ5001024ELDCGE-K where the other 3 identify as OCZ5001024ELDCGER2, is this normal or should I send it back? The system is not stable at 250mhz 2.5-3-3-8, x9.5.

The DMI Baseboard info identifies as 1.xx when it is supposed to be a Rev. 2 board, is this just an oversight?

Other than these technicalities, I am having issues with my filesystem and memory benchmarks.
Filesystem benchmark for two 32gb raptors in a stripe (64kb) is reading out at ~70mb/sec, which seems about half of what it ought to be (and what sandra has for that configuration as comparison) - hooked up to the Promise 378 controller using 1.00.1.37 drivers. I also have a WD2500JD on the VIA controller using driver 4.10a and it is recording ~40mb/sec transfer rates which also seems low.

My RAM benchmarks also seem to be about half of what they ought to be... ~2800 int/float avg where they ought to be ~5500? They do register as Dual Channel when booting up.

The CPU benchmarks are exactly where they ought to be for Athlon 64 at 2.4ghz.

I have a Plextor 712sa and the MB BIOS does not recognize it as a bootable device for some reason.

I am running out of ideas for these problems, I hope someone can help.

Note: The HD/RAM benchmarks are also low like above at stock everything.

Well, to start with, exchange that stick of RAM. Secondly, have you installed the VIA raid drivers? They are installed from a floppy at the beginning of XP install. If you do a repair install of XP, they can be installed then also.

When I isntalled I included:

Promise 20378 RAID driver v1.00.1.37
VIA SATA RAID driver v2.20

both were from the motherboard support page here:
http://usa.asus.com/support/do...ModelName=A8V%20Deluxe

After install, whenever I went to use the plextor 712sa the entire system would tank out like the drive was stuck in PIO mode, and after alot of digging I found some 4.10a version of the VIA SATA driver here:
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/viachip.htm
and that fixed that problem.

I was on the edge about sending back that ram module and that little shove was plenty, will send it back tomorrow.

I took out the set that had the wrong ram module in it, and system is running stable at 10x245mhz now. 2.5-3-3-8. The benchmarks are still low though...

I sent an e-mail to asus about these issues a few days ago but still haven't heard back.

Also, should the drives show up as using a DMA channel (device manager and sandra dma info)?
