I am already assuming that this isnt a good thing. But look at the pic "not sure what the part is called" but it is swollen....and the three triangle areas are pushed upwards. To the point where they look split.

Ive used this motherboard since it was purchased when it was released, been perfect ever since. However "for the last few months" it will not boot at all. Got to hold power button, shut down, and reboot. Alot of times, it takes about 10 times to get it to boot.

Is this swollen part the problem ? And if it is, I imagine it is on its last leg ?

It has had a Athlon 64 3500+ and a XP-90 on it.

Sorry for bad pics, was taken with a phone.

That cap is on its way out...you can replace it if your savy with a soldering iron...or just upgrade your system with a new board..that system your running is pretty dated...dual or quad core is now the rage....

I have searched the entire motherboard, and this cap is the only one.

But no...This isnt the system I am running. Its just a backup PC behind my others.

Guess Ill pick up a combo somewhere and make a HTPC out of it.
