Help. Can anyone help me with the max number of harddrives that a Asus A8N5X can run with PCI cards added in non-raid fashion? Right now I have the C drive, and THE DVD on the two IDE ports, and 4 SATA drives on the 4 on board ports. I tried adding PCI cards to add more SATA, and or PATA drives, but in any combination it does not go into the boot mode, the screen is frozen. The motherboard has the nForce 4 chipset. I had the same problem with MSI premium boards also. It seems to be a limitation of the number of drives on the buses? Any help is appreciated. I have a 680w powersupply so that is not a limiting factor. Thanks.
